Use Cases

The aim of Use Cases (also known as User Goals) is to describe the future product from the user’s perspective. To do this, the users of the product and their knowledge, attitudes and characteristics are defined in advance (e.g. via Personas) before typical scenarios within the use of the product are developed. The ideal process for the (new or revised) product is then derived and described from the user perspective together with the necessary user actions and expected system reactions. This way, all interaction options and information required for a Use Case is identified and collected in a structured manner.

Nice to know:

Use Cases are key to the usability of a system as they document requirements for the product in a user-centered and structured way. A Use Case document is made to be easy to understand for everyone involved in the project - from the user to the developer.
