Quantitative Surveys

Quantitative Surveys need a large and representative sample size to allow for generally valid statements. These surveys are usually conducted in writing (e.g. via online questionnaires). The questions and answers are precisely defined and cannot be changed; this ensures the comparability of the data. This means that all possible answers must be known in advance for each question. The subsequent evaluation is carried out using specialized evaluation software.

Nice to know:

Quantitative Surveys are used to test hypotheses and validate results (e.g. from qualitative interviews). They make it possible to derive generally valid statements about user requirements. The possible answers provided in the questionnaire are standardized and can thus be compared, processed and objectively measured for a large number of respondents. That way, we can determine statistical correlations between individual variables and identify developments.
