Functional Prototype

The Functional Prototype is a crucial step in the development of digital solutions. Compared to a High-Fidelity Prototype, which focuses on a detailed visual design and realistic user experience, this form of prototyping is dedicated to the functionalities and interactions within a solution. The appearance, while usually quite reduced, is therefore optimally aligned with the main features of an application.
A Functional Prototype is a cost-effective way of carrying out a technical feasibility study since it helps in identifying technical problems, or challenges in handling or the user experience at an early stage.
Nice to know:
This form of prototype can also be used for a Proof of Concept.
