Storyboard
Storyboards illustrate a user’s interaction with a product. They are a series of drawings which tell, depending on the purpose, interface sequences up to an entire comic-like story. To do so, the Storyboard depicts certain actors, location(s), time frames, contexual information and critical touch points. Individual actions are thus shown to be plausible within that specific situation. Storyboards are also used to compare different variants or alternative approaches. The goal of this visualization is to easily convey functionalities and interactions to the team, the clients and the users.
Use Cases are an alternative to represent these interactions.
Nice to know:
Storyboards facilitate the understanding of new, potential, or previously missing features and interactions that every team member can work with. They are used both to generate new ideas and to validate existing requirements. Clients can also use Storyboards to promote a project within their organization.
