Experience Prototyping
Experience Prototyping refers to an approach in product development in which prototypes not only cover the functionality of a product, but consider the entire user experience (UX). In contrast to purely functional prototypes, which focus on the technical aspects, Experience Prototyping is about how users interact with a product and which emotions are involved in doing so. The focus is therefore not just on individual functions, but on how the product is integrated into the user’s everyday life. This includes aspects such as user-friendliness, aesthetics, emotions and the context of use.
Nice to know:
Gathering user feedback at an early stage of development allows for many new insights and a notable UX improvement. Experience Prototyping often requires interdisciplinary collaboration, especially between Digital Experience Design and User Research.
